Byzantine Churches in Constantinople By Alexander Van Millingen
I just briefly looked through this book. It looks pretty interesting. I'd like to list which Churches are covered when I get a few moments.
What is more exciting is the technology that Google has available on its books site (books.google.com)
I have to do some serious searching for other titles of interest.
Enjoy.

Papadopoulos on Violakis

Georgios Papadopoulos (Γεώργιος Παπαδόπουλος) on Violakis in his book Ιστορική Επισκόπησις.
Violakis was a year away from retirement when the book was published in 1904.
Papadopoulos, who was a contemporary and close friend of Violakis', gives little biographical information for the current Protopsaltis of the Great Church in this work, but rather refers to two of his recent publications that contain his complete biographies.
Papadopoulos' most informative biographical sketch of Violakis is his address on the 4th of December 1900, on the occasion of Violakis' 60th year of musical service to the Church, and his 25th anniversary of being Protopsaltis. The full work has been published by the Ecumenical Patriarchate in a supplemental issue of the Ecclesiatiki Alitheia (Εκκλησιαστική Αλήθεια).
