Note that the service for November 1st in memory of St. Cosmas and Damian is abbreviated and needs to be supplanted by the service of the day in the Paraklitiki (Παρακλητική). This is the practice that is followed in the November Menaion (Μηναίον). However it has become common practice that on this day the service of November 1st is combined with the service of July 1st, on which St. Cosmas and Damian are also celebrated and the service is complete and does not need to be added to by the Paraklitiki. The Taxis of the Great Church of Christ (Τάξις της Μεγάλης Εκκλησίας) from the 1730 Edition of Goar's Euchologion. It includes the office of Protopsaltes (Πρωτοψάλτης) among the officers of the Great Church, on page 225 of this edition:

Σημείωσις: Εἰς τάς ἐν τῷ Ἐξωτερικῷ Ἐπαρχίας τοῦ Θρόνου εἴθισται νά τελῆται κατά τήν ἡμέραν ταύτην ἡ καθιερωμένη Δοξολογία, κατά τήν ἐν τῷ «Ἱερατικῷ» τάξιν (βλ. Ἱερατικόν, Ἔκδ. Ἀποστολικῆς Διακονίας, Ἀθῆναι 1977, σ. 277 κ.ἑξ.) καί τήν εἰς τήν 1ην Ἰανουαρίου τοῦ παρόντος τοιαύτην.


Ἐν τῆ Ἐκκλησίᾳ τῆς Ἑλλάδος καθιερώθη, ἀπό τοῦ ἔτους 1952, ὅπως τήν ἡμέραν αὐτήν συνεορτάζεται ἡ Ἑορτή τῆς Ἁγίας Σκέπης, ἥτις ἐορτάζεται καί τήν 1ην τοῦ μηνός.

Note that after 1952 the Church of Greece started celebrating the Protection of the Theotokos on October 28th to coincide with the historic OXI Day, when the Greek Nation said NO to Nazi occupation. In the Orologion to Mega (Ωρολόγιον το Μέγα) published by To Perivoli Tis Panagias (Το Περιβόλι της Παναγίας) we read the following about celebrating these two holidays together, the one national in character and the other religious in nature:

...ὅπως μετὰ τῆς ἐθνικῆς ἑορτῆς τῶν Νικητηρίων τῆς 28ης Ὀκτωβρίου συνεορτάζηται καὶ ἡ ἑορτὴ αὕτη τῆς ὑπεραγίας Δεσποίνης ἡμῶν Θεοτόκου, τῆς πάντοτε καὶ κατ᾽ἐξαίρετον τρόπον σκεπούσης τὸ εὐσεβὲς ἡμῶν ἔθνος.

Goar - Euchologion - Εὐχολόγιον - 1647

The service of Xeirothesia (ordination, χειροθεσία) of a Anagnostes (Reader, Ἀναγνώστης) and Psaltes (Chanter, Ψάλτης) as contained in the 1667 (Paris)  edition of J. Goar's, Euchologion.

Note that the service is labeled χειροτονία and is for both a Anagnostes and a Psaltes with a small difference at the end. I would point out that a Psaltes is a member of the lower clergy, with the rank of Anagnostes.
